Monday, February 03, 2025
11:30 AM - 01:30 PM
GBH Studios at the Boston Public Library
700 Boylston Street, Boston, MA, USA
Join us for community conversations that amplify local voices from Boston and beyond. Recorded with a live cafe audience at GBH’s studio in the Boston Public Library, GBH Amplifies features a rotating cast of well-known hosts from local media, community organizations, and more.
On February 3, Ron Mitchel, Editor and Publisher of the Bay State Banner, welcomes guests to the stage for two tapings at 11:30 and 12:30 p.m.
At 11:30, hear from MA state and city officials in "The Year Moving Forward in Politics." Find out how they are adapting to a new administration, and facing challenges ranging from community center budgets slashes to processing ICE detainees.
At 12:30 Ron and two pillars in Boston’s cultural scene will focus on work of preserving African American history in our institutions, community events and school curriculum. "How History Informs Our Future" will feature L’Merchie Frazier and Imari Paris Jeffries, two artistic leaders who are documenting historic moments in the making in Boston and uplifting local Black voices to help everyone know their history.
